This is my first post to a blog, let alone the first blog I have ever created myself! How exciting. I created this blog and hung my shingle in this little corner of the world wide web for several reasons. First, to provide a cost-effective way to showcase my artwork easily and with a greater degree of versatility. Second, was to gain feedback more effectively on projects and things I'm working on. And third, (plain and simple) its pretty cool! Although I must admit I'm not a big fan of being plugged into a computer 24/7. And most of my friends will tell you that I definitely struggle with maintaining a daily routine with some regularity. Every day is different, and as far as that is concerned, I'm not really a creature of habit. But I hope to log in and post whenever I can.
With all that said, here's a bit of the mission statement...As an artist, I've been invloved with a range of different fields, mostly focusing on graphic design and multimedia development. The corporate world is one I will never really fit into, so it was a natural progression for me to find myself in education.
And here I shall remain, quite happy and experiencing more of a sense of purpose and fulfillment. I now have more time than ever to follow my true passion - Paleo and Sci-Fi art!
On a personal note, I'm getting married in August to a wonderful woman who has somehow found a way to deal with the "artist" side of my personality. I count my blessing every day that she is in my life. The Rangers didn't make the playoffs... what's that all about? Shameful. There's always next season, I suppose. Although we've been saying that since '95. Perhaps they're working on another streak...
Now onto the artwork! This is an ink drawing I've been working on for a while now...

a Spinosaurus with its kill. I will color it digitally in Photoshop. I have a few others I created along with this one - you can check them out in the Paleo Sketches slideshow gallery.
So this site and the focus of my artistic efforts will move in that direction, and I'm excited to say that I have finally begun working on a story line for a Sci-Fi graphic novel that's been waiting patiently (and sometimes not so patiently!) in the recesses of my mind for over a decade now. No more procrastinating! More of that work to follow - I hope you enjoy the art and designs I have to share! Welcome, and your sincere feedback is very much valued and appreciated!
